Cyle Feingold founded Results Learning in 2004 with a mission to help students learn the way they learn best. For the last 20 years, Cyle has been working with children who have been told that they cannot achieve the same things as “normal” kids. Why? Because he was one of them.
In 5th grade, Cyle was labeled “the stupid kid,” the kid that couldn’t learn, by his teacher. He shares, “Truthfully, I think many of my peers already knew this but he just made it official. Throughout my elementary years, learning was difficult, teachers did not understand me, I was consistently being told what I was not doing correctly and what I should do better or differently, like keeping my papers inside of my desk. My teachers told my parents that I was lazy and just needed to ‘try harder, sit still in my chair, and pay attention like the other kids.’ At the end of 5th grade, I was three years behind in reading, writing, and math. I was not sure I was good at anything at school, including making and keeping friends.”
At the time, Cyle did not realize that he has Dyslexia, ADHD, and is an out-of-the-box learner and thinker. He now knows, after many years of unnecessary self-esteem issues and emotional trials and tribulations, that it’s his differences that are his superpowers.
Twenty years ago, Cyle set out on a mission to use his experiences to impact all learners and specifically students with disabilities, language learners, students of color, and at-risk learners. He founded Results Learning to achieve this mission through partnerships with districts and schools to provide individualized tutoring and intervention to students. Cyle knows that if we recognize the brilliance in each mind and empower each student to use their strengths while also addressing their needs, today’s diverse learners will become tomorrow’s leaders.
