About me
Dr. Katrina Caldon-Ruggles, MA, LPC, is a counselor and district MTSS coordinator in the Center Consolidated School District in the town of Center in the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado. Katrina has been coordinating and providing services focused on the overall health and wellness and positive development of youth since 2000. In the district, she leads the Center Positive Youth Development team who deliver tiered supports for academic, career, and social-emotional development. She is also responsible for fiscal and grant management and program evaluation for this work. Under her stewardship over the past twenty years of doing this work, graduation rates have increased, drop-out rates decreased, teen pregnancy rates decreased, and post-secondary attendance rates increased. Katrina was selected as the 2015 Center School District and the 2015 San Luis Valley Teacher of the Year. She was also selected as the 2015 Colorado School Counselor Association (CSCA) Colorado Counselor of the Year. Katrina is dual licensed in clinical and school counseling and recently earned in doctorate in counselor education from Adams State University. In addition to her professional responsibilities, she is the mother of six children and grandmother to one.
