Jo (Jonette) Dixon is currently the District Coordinator for Physical and Health Education in the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, CO
Jo has taught Physical Education for 24 years at the middle and high school levels in Colorado and Missouri, and spent 2 years as a District Coordinator. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a Health Education minor, as well as a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science (Physical Education Pedagogy) all from the University of Central Missouri.
She is part of the Welltrain Cadre Team, providing professional development to teachers at the local, state and national levels in Highly Effective K-12 Physical Education best practices, assessment, and social/emotional learning (SEL), and is also an Open National Trainer.
She was the Missouri 2004 Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year, Central District 2005 Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year, the 2015 Distinguished Service Award and 2016 Pathfinder Award Winner for SHAPE Colorado, and was the 2013 Lesher Rotary Teacher of the Year, and a finalist for the 2018 Poudre School District Excellence in Education Award. She has coached softball, basketball, track and field, and cross country at the middle school and high school levels, officiates basketball and has a Level 1 USTA Track and Field Certification.
